The Netherlands produces a great variety of heterogenic biobased waste streams (biomass) without creating value out of these streams. Besides being diverse and heterogenic, biomass often contains a large amount of water. The high water content makes transportation of biomass both from an economic and sustainable point of view unattractive. This project provides an overview of dewatering technologies for all sorts of biomass varieties. 44 technologies were listed, of which 11 were deepened.
During the intake meeting we together define the scope of the challenge, for which process you want to find technologies?
After the intake meeting the Findest scout will focus on finding all relevant processes in the context of your challenge. The results will contain a short description and examples from literature.
In the midway meeting, we will discuss which results are relevant. You can then select 1-10 processes for the deep dive scouting phase.
This second scouting phase will consist of elaborating the information of the different processes. A summary of the selected process technologies are provided in a table containing three important aspects of your choice. Additionally, the platform outlines other specifications, TRL and suppliers of the approaches.
